Benefits: Sweet orange is an antimicrobial that may be useful in fighting several strains of bacteria including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus (staph bacteria) that are resistant to antibiotics. Limonene, a compound of the oil is being investigated as a potential cancer treatment and has been shown to inhibit growth of colon cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer cells in culture.
